Ricardo crossed the Atlantic in 2000, for an internship at the Renault’s “TECHNOCENTRE” and joined the Renault F1 Team the following year, as V10 testing engineer. In 2003, he joined the trackside team covering all in-season testing and integrated the racing team in 2007, as a race engineer.

In 2016, after 5 years as Engine Support Leader for Renault, “Rico” took the lead of all engine operations, becoming Trackside Operations Manager also for Toro Rosso, Red Bull and McLaren.

His passion for technical challenges (and human adventures) naturally led him to quit the F1 circus, driving him to explore different horizons and to apply all his experience – gained over 349 GPs and almost 20 years in F1 – in other honourable and greener projects.
